Night Skate: DUSFOR, Düsseldorf, (August 24th, 2006).

I have skated with the DUSFOR-skaters in a lot of places, but never joined their Thursday Night Skate in Düsseldorf until august 24 in 2006. On our way to the Rhine on Skates event, near Mainz/Koblenz, Renske, Angelika and I stopped in Düsseldorf to participate. The weather didn't promise much good for the night, but as we arrived in Düsseldorf the sun came out and it stopped raining. The streets were still wet, but this didn't stop DUSFOR-skaters. So in the evening a small group showed up for a relaxed night skate. DUSFOR is not allowed to skate in the center of the city with a large group, so most the route goes through the suburbs and for this night we also visited the Düsseldorf Airport. Although being a relaxed skate, it isn't a slow skate. so you have to be experienced in inline-skating.

The skate was good. Sometimes we got a bit rough surface on narrow a "Feldweg", but that's part of the charm. Also it was nice to catch up again with my friends from Düsseldorf. So if you are in town on a Thursday Night, go to the river Rhine near the old city center and join them! :-)
