110km around Woerden, Holland (July 5th 2003)

On an early Saturday morning we gathered for the start of a 110km tour around Woerden. A small city in "the green heart" of the western part of Holland. They had organized two small loops of 25km and one big loop of 60km. So you had the option to skate less, without having to bother how to get back to the start.

The first 25km were very slippery, because it had rained and the roads were still wet. some mud and clay on the roads weren't very helpful either. Martijn, Martiza and Germaine joined the pack after the first loop of 25km. Maritza had skated and partied in Groningen the previous night and stepped out after 25km. :-)

In between the loops there were drinks and food at the organizing club. After a short break we continued with the final loop of 60km. This one was much harder, because of the wind and sometimes rough surface. Bikes and police cars escorted us on our trip to block the traffic at intersections.

A nice tour and well organized. :-)
